Product Description
The municipal drain steel grating is manufactured from parallel load-bearing bars connected by cross bars to form a rigid open-grid panel. It is installed over drainage trenches, surface-water channels, catch basins and other municipal drainage openings.
The open grating structure allows rainwater and surface runoff to enter the drainage system while covering the channel below. Bearing bars transfer pedestrian or vehicle loads to the supporting frame and surrounding concrete structure.
Hot-dip galvanizing creates a protective zinc coating over the fabricated carbon steel grating. Plain bearing bars are suitable for general drainage areas, while serrated bars can provide additional grip on wet surfaces.
The steel drain grating can be supplied with angle frames, hinges, locking bolts, retaining chains and lifting handles. Removable and hinged sections are available for inspection, cleaning and maintenance.
