Product Description

The anti-corrosion highway crash barrier is a continuous steel guardrail system used to separate traffic areas and provide roadside containment. Installed along road edges, medians, bridge approaches and hazardous sections, it helps reduce the likelihood of an errant vehicle leaving the roadway or entering an opposing traffic lane.

The system generally consists of corrugated steel guardrail beams, support posts, spacer blocks, connecting bolts, washers, reflectors and end treatments. W-beam guardrails are widely used for conventional roadside and median applications, while Thrie-beam profiles may be specified for projects requiring a wider rail face or a different tested system configuration.

Guardrail beams are roll-formed from steel sheets and provided with accurately positioned connection holes. Overlapping beam sections are bolted together and supported by steel posts to create a continuous highway safety barrier. Damaged sections can be individually inspected and replaced without dismantling the entire installation.

Hot-dip galvanizing provides a protective zinc coating over the steel surface, improving resistance to moisture and outdoor corrosion. Powder-coated or galvanized-and-coated finishes may also be supplied when a specific color or additional surface protection is required.

Beam profile, panel length, steel thickness, post type, post spacing, spacer design and zinc coating should be selected according to the applicable road authority specifications and the approved barrier system. Roadside safety performance depends on the complete system configuration rather than the guardrail beam alone.

Product Advantages

Corrosion-Resistant Galvanized Finish

Hot-dip galvanizing protects exposed steel surfaces and makes the highway crash barrier suitable for long-term outdoor infrastructure applications.

Continuous Corrugated Beam Structure

The shaped steel beam provides longitudinal continuity and bending capacity when properly connected to compatible posts, spacer blocks and fasteners.

W-Beam and Thrie-Beam Options

Different corrugated beam profiles are available to meet project drawings, road classifications and specified guardrail system configurations.

Replaceable Modular Components

Guardrail beams, posts, spacer blocks and connection hardware are assembled as separate components, allowing damaged parts to be inspected and replaced.

Complete Accessory Supply

Compatible posts, spacer blocks, bolts, washers, reflectors and end sections can be supplied to simplify procurement for highway guardrail projects.

Project-Based Manufacturing

Panel dimensions, hole positions, steel thickness, post profiles and surface coatings can be produced according to confirmed technical specifications.

Application Scenario

Highway Roadside Sections

The galvanized highway crash barrier can be installed along road edges to provide continuous separation between the carriageway and roadside hazards.

Central Medians

Single-sided or double-sided barrier configurations can be used in highway medians according to available space and the approved road safety design.

Bridges and Approaches

Compatible guardrail systems can be installed along bridge approaches and transition sections where project-specific connections and barrier layouts are required.

Curves and Sloped Roads

Straight or pre-curved guardrail panels can follow horizontal road alignments, subject to the required curve radius and installation drawings.

Mountain and Embankment Roads

Steel crash barriers are suitable for road sections adjacent to slopes, embankments, drainage structures and other roadside hazards.

Interchanges and Ramps

W-beam and Thrie-beam barriers can be used around interchanges, exit ramps, entrance ramps and traffic-diversion areas.

Municipal and Industrial Roads

The system may also be used on urban roads, industrial access routes, logistics parks and other locations requiring continuous vehicle guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the highway crash barrier made from?

It is generally manufactured from formed steel sheets with a hot-dip galvanized surface. The material grade and steel thickness can be selected according to the project specification.

2. What is the difference between W-beam and Thrie-beam barriers?

A W-beam has a two-wave profile, while a Thrie-beam has a wider three-wave profile. Selection should be based on the specified and tested guardrail system for the road project.

3. Why is hot-dip galvanizing used?

Hot-dip galvanizing applies a protective zinc coating to the steel surface, helping reduce corrosion caused by moisture and outdoor exposure.

4. Can the guardrail dimensions be customized?

Yes. Panel length, effective length, width, thickness, hole spacing and curved radius can be manufactured according to confirmed technical drawings.

5. Are posts and accessories included?

Posts, spacer blocks, bolts, nuts, washers, reflectors and end sections can be supplied together or quoted separately according to the required component list.
